Trends to look out for in 2019
I can hardly believe that January is almost behind us. So it's about time we looked ahead to what
the big ‘trends’ are going to be in 2019.
- Coral will be one of the favourite colours this
year, perfect for a sunny, bright summer wedding. Expect to see this
pinky-orange hue make an appearance in bridal wear, flowers and even makeup.
-
Taking inspiration from Meghan Merkle, wedding
dresses will be returning to a more simple design with a classic, tailored
look. Make sure the dress is fitted perfectly to your
shape, creating a gorgeous silhouette.
-
Wedding veils are going to get longer and more fabulous
in 2019, thanks to Priyanka Chopra’s incredible 75-foot veil, which she wore
during her wedding to Nick Jonas in 2018.
-
Gone are the days of the Groom wearing trainers
and loose fitting shirts. 2019 will be the year of the three-piece suit. A
tailored and fitted design looks super smart during the day, and when the party
really starts, he can shrug off his jacket and push his sleeves up to create a
more relaxed look.
-
Another trend inspired by Prince Harry and
Meghan Merkle’s wedding is the use of a Gospel Choir. Not only do they sound
fabulous, but they definitely have the wow factor during a Church ceremony.
-
Greenery has been a huge feature in weddings for
the last few years, but we’re going up a notch in 2019 as we will see an increase
in the use of trees – bringing the outside in. Either as table centre pieces or
simply as additional decoration, trees & foliage will be very popular.
-
Cakes are
going BIG! Elaborate royal icing designs will be back on trend with opulent
metallic touches and fabulous sugar flowers becoming more and more popular.
-
Hand illustrated invitations and stationary will
be a big trend in 2019. It’s a great way to create something personal and can unify
the décor throughout the day.
-
Two words: Glitter Bar! This fabulous trend is
fun, sparkly, and it gets guests mixing.
